Lost at sea

If there was a rainbow,

it would bore into your soul

and remove the demons that enter with a glow.

If there was a comet,

It would chase us to the edges of time
where we stood so close between heaven and hell’s chime.

I’ve woken to your essence,

It shined upon us, reflective and bright.

I tried to capture it, but it vanished from sight.

Your face played the good captain,

But your eyes told no lies

A part of you lost at sea only to shrivel and die.

It is my honor and desire.

To be your anchor,

And steer you away from the gyres.
