The music flowed through the room like a silky negligee.

The voice so strong, yet so feminine she sang.

People surrounded her as the lights dimmed around her like a ring of angels.

Ears perked up when she arched her brow toward the man in the back who leaned against the bar with such pristine confidence.

Their eyes met briefly, but the crowd hushed for a moment.

It was in that moment she felt ashamed.

The words spilled out like flies to a carcass.

Wide-eyes watched her as she glowered.

What did she say for all to be on display?

The heat rose like bile to a can—it finally hit her.

the words she uttered can never be taken back.

They’ve become one with nature like the clouds behind the trees.

One fellow angered and another gazed with admiration.

Remorseful pleas spread within her words as another tune sang beautiful.

All was forgotten, or so it may have seemed.
